GoBlue & Total Control App
The Bluetooth link that lets the Android and iOS app control the Vertex, even with no signal running.
GoBlue is an optional Bluetooth add-on for the Vertex.
With it, the Total Control app on your phone or tablet works like a remote with a screen: you can see and change settings without a cable.
Can I control the HDfury Vertex with a phone app?
YESYes, with the optional GoBlue Bluetooth add-on and the Total Control app for Android and iOS. The app works even when no video passes through the Vertex, with a range of over 10 m (p.55, p.103).
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Fit GoBlue and install the Total Control app on Android or iOS (p.54–55).
- Do not pair in the phone's Bluetooth menu; just open the app and it connects by itself (p.55).
- Keep the EDID, HDCP and SCALE slide switches in the middle so remote commands apply (p.8, p.11, p.12).
- From the app you can switch inputs, EDID, scaling, HDR/AVI/VSI, OSD and CEC, and read signal info (p.55).
Apps and dongles for the HDfury Vertex
The Android and iOS apps are only for owners of GoBlue (optional Bluetooth and infrared dongle) or GO2 (optional Bluetooth-to-RS232 dongle). Both work with the HDfury Vertex.
GoBlue: connect it between the USB power source and the Vertex and use the 4K Vertex Total Control app.
GO2: plug it into the RS232 jack of the Vertex, power it from a USB port and use the Go232 app. In our shop GO2 is listed as HDfury Go32.
What it is
GoBlue is HDfury's Bluetooth option for the Vertex. With it, the Total Control app on a phone or tablet can read and change the settings wirelessly.
On the Vertex
The manual calls GoBlue mandatory for control from a smartphone or tablet (p.4) and optional elsewhere (p.107). The app runs on Android and iOS (p.54–55).
The app can reset, issue HPD, read, modify and upload the configuration; switch inputs and Matrix/Splitter mode; set EDID mode, Automix algorithm and flags; set scaling; replace HDR, AVI or VSI; set OSD and CEC; and show signal info and the GUI, FW and GoBlue versions (p.55).
Do not pair the phone in the Android Bluetooth menu; launch the app and it connects by itself (p.55). It works even when no signal goes through the Vertex, and the range is over 10m (p.55, p.103). On Android you can build your own menu with custom commands in an editable XML file (p.55).
