IR Codes (NEC / Pronto HEX)
Direct infrared codes for every Vertex function, for learning remotes and home-automation systems.
An infrared (IR) code is the invisible light message a remote control sends.
Every Vertex function has its own IR code, so a universal remote or home-automation system can control it.
Many codes do exactly one thing, like 'OSD on', so they work the same every time.
Can I control the HDfury Vertex with IR codes?
YESYes. Every function has a discrete IR code in NEC format (address 0x70, TOP EDID tables 0x71) plus Pronto HEX, for learning remotes and home automation. The latest list comes as a text file with each FW/GUI package (p.56).
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Keep the EDID, HDCP and SCALE slide switches in the middle so IR commands apply (p.8, p.11, p.12).
- Look up the code in the manual (p.56–102) or the text file in the latest package (p.56).
- Example: vertex_inputsel3 (matrix thru) is NEC 0x70 0x11 (p.78).
- Teach the Pronto HEX or NEC code to your universal remote or control system (p.56).
What it is
NEC is a common infrared remote protocol: each code is an address plus a command byte. Pronto HEX is a text format that describes an IR signal as numbers, used by many universal remotes and control systems.
A 'discrete' code does one thing only (for example 'OSD on'), which makes macros reliable because the result does not depend on the current state.
On the Vertex
The manual lists every Vertex IR code with its NEC address and command plus the Pronto HEX string (p.56–102). For example, vertex_inputsel3 (matrix thru) is NEC 0x70 0x11 (p.78). Most codes use address 0x70; the TOP EDID table codes use 0x71.
There are discrete codes for EDID tables 1–100, Automix flags and algorithms, HDCP 1.4/2.2, scaling, OSD and OLED options, CEC and power (p.56–102).
HDfury advises using the latest IR list, which comes as a text file with each firmware and GUI package (p.56, p.33). The codes were submitted to Logitech Harmony and iRule (p.56, p.109).
