EDID
EDID is capability data sent from a display or other HDMI sink back toward the source. Vertex can control what EDID the source sees.
EDID is a small list that a screen or receiver gives to the source, saying what pictures and sound it can play.
It is like a menu at a restaurant: the source can only "order" what is on the menu.
The Vertex can decide which menu the source gets.
Can the HDfury Vertex change the EDID my player sees?
YESYes. The EDID slide switch picks Automix, Custom (100 tables) or a safe Fixed EDID, and each input can have its own EDID. It only changes what the player is told; it cannot add features to your TV (p.8, p.29).
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Set the EDID slide switch to the middle (Custom Use / BT); the default table is 4K60 4:4:4 BT2020 HDR 600MHz with full audio (p.8).
- In the GUI EDID MANAGER tab pick another table from the list; the Vertex sends a hotplug automatically (p.29).
- Or use RS232 #set edidtable x (1–100) (p.49).
- If the player does not react, use CONFIG > ISSUE HOTPLUG > Send, or pull the player's power cord (p.41, p.113).

Why it matters
HDMI behaviour is determined by the complete signal chain. Vertex exposes and manages these technical layers so mixed sources, displays, projectors and AV processors can be configured more deliberately instead of relying only on automatic handshakes.
Common questions
Why does my player send the wrong resolution or no HDR?
The player follows the EDID it receives. If the EDID does not list 4K HDR, the player will not send it; pick an EDID that does.
I changed the EDID but my player did not react. Why?
Some sources keep the old EDID until you remove their power cord (p.113). You can also send a hotplug from the CONFIG page (p.41).
Can the Vertex give each input its own EDID?
Yes. Each input can have an individual EDID (p.29).
