TX0 / TX1 (BOT and TOP outputs)
Which Vertex output is which: TX0 is the bottom output, TX1 the top, and why that matters.
TX means an output (transmitter) and RX means an input (receiver).
On the Vertex, TX0 is the bottom (BOT) output and TX1 is the top (TOP) output.
The two outputs are not the same, so it matters which device you plug in where.
Which HDfury Vertex output is TX0 and which is TX1?
HOW IT WORKSTX0 is the BOTTOM (BOT) output and TX1 is the TOP output. BOT is the CEC/ARC master and reads the Dolby Vision data; TOP is the downscale port, where HDCP 1.x devices must go.
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Connect a Dolby Vision TV or an ARC TV to BOT (TX0) (p.36, p.39).
- Connect HDMI/HDCP 1.x devices to TOP (TX1), the downscale port (p.5).
- Check each output in the GUI top section or with RS232 #get status tx0 / tx1 (p.27, p.48).
- HDCP 2.2 per output: p.11 says both outputs, p.107 says only the top port; the manual contradicts itself.
What it is
In HDMI chips, RX means a receiver (an input) and TX a transmitter (an output). Numbering them 0 and 1 is simply how the two ports of each kind are told apart.
On the Vertex
On the Vertex, TX1 is the TOP output port and TX0 the BOT output port (p.14, p.30–31). The inputs are RX0 and RX1; the GUI shows resolution, refresh rate, colour, bandwidth and HDCP for each, plus AUD0 and AUD1 for input audio (p.27).
The ports have different roles. HDMI/HDCP 1.x devices must go on the TOP (Downscale) output (p.5). Auto Scaling presets apply to TX1, while TX0 is upscaled when possible (p.30–31). The BOT output is the CEC/ARC master (p.39), and the Dolby Vision string is sniffed from the sink at BOT (p.36). MUTE BOT TX AUDIO silences the BOT output (p.42).
HDCP per output: p.11 says both outputs work with HDCP 1.4/2.2; p.107 says each output can encrypt to 1.4 (both) or 2.2 (only top port). The manual contradicts itself here.

Common questions
Where should my Dolby Vision TV go?
On the BOT output (TX0). The Vertex reads the Dolby Vision block only from the display on BOT, and BOT is also the CEC/ARC master (p.36, p.39).
Where should an older HDCP 1.x device go?
On the TOP output (TX1), the downscale port (p.5).
Do both outputs support HDCP 2.2?
The manual contradicts itself: p.11 says both outputs work with HDCP 1.4/2.2, p.107 says 2.2 only on the top port.
