Custom EDID Tables (100 banks)
The 100 selectable EDID tables of the Vertex, the ten custom slots and a separate EDID per input.
The Vertex has a list of 100 ready-made EDIDs. Each one is a "what I can do" list you can show to the source.
It is like choosing a menu card to hand to a guest: pick a smaller menu, and the guest can only order from that.
Slots 1 to 10 are custom, so you can also put your own EDID file there.
How many EDID tables does the HDfury Vertex have?
YES100. Tables 1-10 are custom slots (1-3 pre-filled, 4-10 free for your own EDID) and 11-100 are preloaded formats from 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz down to 480p60. Each input can use its own table.
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Set the EDID slide switch to the middle, Custom Use / BT (p.8).
- USB GUI > EDID MANAGER: pick a table for PORT 0 and, if you like, a different one for PORT 1 (p.28-29).
- Own EDID file: Load from File, then Upload EDID into a free slot 4-10 (p.15, p.29).
- RS232: #set edidtable 1-100 and #set edidtabletop 0-100 (p.49); IR: vertex_edidcustomtable1 to 100 (p.60-75).
What it is
An EDID table is a complete capability list a device presents to the source. Picking a ready-made table lets you decide exactly which resolutions, colour formats and audio the source is allowed to send.
A custom slot holds an EDID you supply yourself, for example one read from your own TV and edited on a PC.
On the Vertex
In the Custom Use / BT slide position you pick one of 100 EDID tables or load your own. The default table is 4K60 4:4:4 BT2020 HDR 600MHz with full audio (p.8; p.28 describes it as 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz with Full Audio).
Tables 1–10 are CUSTOM slots: 1 [Default FULL no DV], 2 [FULL + LG DV], 3 [FULL + Vizio DV], 4–10 free. Tables 11–100 are preloaded, named by format, BT2020/HDR and audio (All Sound, SPDIF or Stereo), from 4K60-444 600MHz down to 480p60 (p.15–17).
Each input can have its own EDID (p.8, p.29). RS232: #set edidtable 1–100 for port 0 (and port 1 if not set separately); #set edidtabletop 0–100 for port 1, where 0 follows the port 0 EDID (p.49). The IR list has vertex_edidtopfollow for this (p.77).
To fill a custom slot, load an EDID file and use Upload EDID / Write EDID to Vertex (p.29). Selecting a bank takes effect right away: the Vertex loads it and HPD events present it to the source (p.29).
Common questions
Which EDID table is the default?
A 4K60 4:4:4 BT2020 HDR 600MHz table with full audio (p.8, p.28).
Where do I put my own EDID file, for example an LLDV EDID?
Slots 4 to 10 are free custom slots; 1 to 3 are pre-filled (p.15). Load the file and click Upload EDID (p.29).
I picked a new table but nothing changed. What now?
The Vertex resets the signal by itself when you select a table (p.29). Some sources keep the old EDID until you unplug their power cord (p.113).
