Auto Switch & Input Priority
Let the Vertex jump to a live input by itself when the current source goes off or a new one appears.
Auto switch lets the Vertex change to another input by itself.
It is like a hallway light with a motion sensor: you do not press a button, it reacts when something happens.
If the source you are watching goes off, the Vertex jumps to one that is still sending a picture. With Forced priority it also jumps to any new source that turns on.
Can the HDfury Vertex switch inputs automatically?
YESYes. With AUTO SWITCH on, the Vertex changes to the active input when the selected signal is lost. With PRIORITY set to Forced, it also jumps to any new source as soon as it turns on.
How to use it with the Vertex:
- USB GUI > CONFIG: tick AUTO SWITCH (p.41).
- Set PRIORITY to Normal or Forced; Forced switches to every new active input (p.26, p.41).
- RS232: #set autosw on/off and #set autoswprio on/off (p.48-49).
- IR: vertex_autoswon / vertex_autoswoff and vertex_autoswprioon / vertex_autoswpriooff (p.56).
What it is
Auto switching means a switcher picks the input for you, based on which sources send a signal. Input priority decides what happens when a second source becomes active.
On the Vertex
AUTO SWITCH on the CONFIG page makes the Vertex switch to the active signal if the selected signal is lost (p.41).
PRIORITY sets how eager it is. In FORCED input priority mode, the Vertex switches to a new active input as soon as it is detected (p.41). The GUI list calls the two options Normal and Forced (p.26).
RS232: #set autosw on/off and #set autoswprio on/off. With autoswprio on, the input changes when a new source is connected (p.48–49). IR codes vertex_autoswon/off and vertex_autoswprioon/off are on p.56. The app can set both as well (p.55).
Common questions
The Vertex keeps switching inputs when I turn on my other player. How do I stop that?
Set PRIORITY back from Forced to Normal. In Forced mode the Vertex switches as soon as a new active input appears (p.41). Over RS232 this is #set autoswprio off (p.48–49).
Does auto switch work without a PC?
Yes. Once set, it is stored in the Vertex. You can also change it with IR codes or the app (p.55–56).
