Config Import / Export

Save every Vertex setting to an editable text file, share it, and load it back after an update.

SIMPLY PUT

A config file is a saved copy of all your Vertex settings in one text file.

It is like saving a game: if something goes wrong, or after an update, you can load your save and everything is back as it was.

Can I back up and restore HDfury Vertex settings?

YESYes. In the Windows USB GUI, CONFIG > EXPORT saves all settings as a text file and CONFIG > IMPORT loads it back, for example after a firmware update. Only the SETTINGS part of the file may be edited.

How to use it with the Vertex:

Connect the Vertex by USB to a Windows PC with the Silabs driver installed (p.20).
Before a firmware update, use [CONFIG] > [EXPORT] (p.43).
Edit only the SETTINGS part if needed; do not change STATUS INFO (p.43-45).
Load it back with [CONFIG] > [IMPORT] (p.43); the app can also read and upload the configuration (p.55).

What it is

A config file is a saved copy of all settings of a device. It lets you back up a working setup, share it for support or restore it in one step.

On the Vertex

[CONFIG] > [EXPORT] saves the current configuration and settings as a text file; [CONFIG] > [IMPORT] loads it back, for example after a firmware update (p.43).

The file has a STATUS INFO part that you must not modify (firmware, active signals, RX0/RX1/TX0/TX1 EDIDs and InfoFrames) and a SETTINGS part that you may edit before importing (p.43–47). Settings include InputPort, AutoSw, EdidSlidePosition, EdidAlgo, HdrCustom, the scaler ports, OLED and OSD values, JVC macros, CEC and the custom HDR/AVI/VSI strings (p.45–47).

Resets are on the same CONFIG page: CLEAR ALL SETTINGS TO FACTORY DEFAULTS (like a long press on RESET, then power cycle) and EDID FACTORY RESET; both need you to type RESET (p.42). The app can also read, modify and upload the configuration (p.55).

Common questions

Should I export my config before a firmware update?

Yes. Export it first, then import it after the update to restore your settings (p.43).

Can I edit the file by hand?

Only the SETTINGS part. Do not change the STATUS INFO part (p.43–45).

Can I share my config for help?

Yes. The file is plain text, so you can send it to support or another user (p.43).
