AutoMix EDID
AutoMix creates a generated EDID by combining capabilities reported by the sinks connected to Vertex.
AutoMix makes one new EDID (the "what I can do" list) by combining the lists of the two devices on the Vertex outputs.
It is like planning a meal for two guests: you look at what both can eat, and cook something that works for both.
The source then sends a signal that both outputs can show and play.
What does Automix EDID do on the HDfury Vertex?
YESIt builds one EDID from the EDIDs of the devices on the TOP and BOT outputs, so both can show a picture and play sound. By default it reports what both share; flags can force extra audio, HDR or Dolby Vision.
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Set the EDID slide switch to Automix Mode (p.8), or keep it in the middle and choose Automix in the GUI or with #set edidmode automix (p.49).
- Pick the mixing algorithm in EDID MANAGER; the default is Max Audio/Max Video (p.28).
- Tick flags if needed, for example 7.1 Full when the TV is stereo and the AVR has surround (p.28).

Why it matters
HDMI behaviour is determined by the complete signal chain. Vertex exposes and manages these technical layers so mixed sources, displays, projectors and AV processors can be configured more deliberately instead of relying only on automatic handshakes.
Common questions
Why does AutoMix only offer stereo sound?
By default AutoMix reports what both devices can do, so a stereo TV plus a surround AVR gives stereo. Tick the 5.1 Multi or 7.1 Full flag to force more audio (p.28).
Do I need AutoMix with only one display?
No. With one device, Copy Sink or a Custom EDID table is simpler. AutoMix is meant for two sinks, one on each output (p.28, p.108).
Can AutoMix keep Dolby Vision when my AVR does not support it?
Yes, if the Vertex has stored your TV's DV string from the BOT output and you use the DV Force Metadata flag (p.28, p.36).
