DCI 4K
Processing/scaling support includes DCI 4096×2160p within supported bandwidth.
DCI 4K is the cinema version of 4K: 4096 dots across the picture.
The 4K on most TVs (UHD) is 3840 dots across, a little narrower. Both are 2160 dots tall.
The Vertex can work with both sizes, as long as the signal fits in its 18 Gbps.
Does the HDfury Vertex support DCI 4K (4096x2160)?
YESYes. The Vertex passes and processes DCI 4096x2160, including scaling, chroma, colour space and bit depth changes, as long as the signal fits within 600 MHz / 18 Gbps.
How to use it with the Vertex:
- Use No Scaling/Passthru to pass the DCI signal untouched (p.12).
- Check the incoming resolution on the OLED or in the GUI RX0/RX1 lines (p.19, p.27).
- Use SCALER > Custom Scaling only if the display needs another format (p.30).
- Use 600MHz-certified cables for 4K60 signals (p.5).

Common questions
Is DCI 4K better than UHD 4K?
Not better, just slightly wider. Nearly all home video, including UHD Blu-ray and streaming, is 3840 × 2160.
Does the Vertex support DCI 4K?
Yes. It can scale and change colour format and bit depth for DCI 4096×2160p (p.107).
