WHERE DOES
EVERY CABLE GO?
One source + one display
SOURCE HDMI OUT → VERTEX INPUT → VERTEX OUTPUT → DISPLAY HDMI IN
Always establish this path first. It is your known-good reference.
With an AVR
SOURCE → VERTEX → AVR HDMI IN → AVR HDMI OUT → DISPLAY
First prove Source → Vertex → Display. Add the AVR afterwards so an AVR handshake/input-mode issue is easy to identify.
Two displays
SOURCE → VERTEX → BOTTOM OUTPUT → 4K / DOLBY VISION TV | TOP OUTPUT → SECOND DISPLAY, 1080p DEVICE OR AVR
Test both displays individually before running them together. Mixed capabilities affect EDID and may require scaling.
4K + 1080p
SOURCE → VERTEX → 4K PATH | VERTEX SCALED PATH → 1080p DEVICE
Introduce downscaling only after both displays have been tested alone.
Audio extraction
SOURCE → VERTEX → VIDEO PATH + VERTEX AUDIO OUT → AUDIO DEVICE
Prove HDMI video/audio first, then configure the supported de-embedded audio output.
Important: the output roles are fixed: TOP output (TX1) is the downscale port for 1080p / HDCP 1.x devices and AVRs; BOTTOM output (TX0) is the CEC/ARC port and the port the Vertex reads a Dolby Vision TV from. Splitter mode sends the active input to both outputs; Matrix mode (hold INP for 2 seconds) sends a different input to each. Use the on-device/GUI routing information and verify TX rather than assuming a physical output is carrying a particular processed path.
